Accessing the competition timer

Time recording for the competition is done via the website.

You can access the competition timer using the link https://puzzlerush.se/competition or by clicking the 'Open timer' button on your profile page. You must be logged in to the Puzzle Rush website to record your time.

Before the competition starts, you will see a list of participants and the timer displayed at 00:00. Once the competition begins, the timer will start automatically.

Preventing your device from going to sleep

If you are using a phone or tablet, we recommend turning off your screen timeout during the competition.

If your device goes to sleep, you will need to wake and unlock it before you can see the timer or tap the 'Done' button.

iOS (iPhone / iPad)

  • Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock → Select Never

Android

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Display
  3. Look for one of the following options (the name varies by device): • Screen timeout • Sleep • Lock screen • Auto screen off
  4. Set it to Never or the maximum available time

Some Android devices do not offer a 'Never' option. In this case, you can install an app to keep the screen awake, such as:

  • •Screen Alive
  • •Keep Screen On

When the competition starts

After a short introduction it will be time to open the packaging and see which puzzle you have.

  • •Open the delivery box and remove any plastic packaging or stickers.
  • •You may open the puzzle box and remove any posters or other material.
  • •Do not open the puzzle bag until the timer starts.

When you are ready:

  1. Place the puzzle box in the middle of your table clearly visible for your camera.
  2. When everyone is ready we'll do a countdown and start the time – and the competition is on!

When you are finished

When you have finished the puzzle, click the 'Done' button on the timer website. Your time will then be recorded and displayed in the preliminary results on the competition page.

You will be prompted to enter the number of missing pieces. A penalty of 5 seconds will be added to your time for each missing piece.

If you are still puzzling when the time limit is reached, you will instead be prompted to enter the number of remaining pieces.

After the competition, we will review the results, make any necessary adjustments, and publish the final results.

Prizes

  • •The first 3 finishers in each competition will receive a customised, personally engraved, wooden trophy.
  • •We'll also give out an extra prize to a randomly selected puzzler before the competition. Please note: this is only open to participants in Sweden.
