How many pieces will the puzzles have?

Most of the puzzles will have 1000 pieces, but you can expect a few surprise rounds during the competition!

Which brands will be used?

The competition has 3 sponsor brands, Puzzle by Tildas, SverigePussel and a third mystery brand which will be announced on the day. Puzzles from 4 other brands will also be used but we'll keep these as a surprise!

Do the puzzles need to be completed in a set order?

Yes, all teams will complete the puzzles in the same order.

Do we have the option to skip puzzles?

No, all puzzles must be completed.

How many puzzles will there be?

There will be a total of 12 puzzles to complete as part of the marathon.

Do we get to keep the puzzles?

Absolutely! The team gets to take all 12 puzzles home, even those you do not complete during the marathon.

How are times and results recorded?

When you arrive at the event, you will find a QR code on your table which you can scan to access the time recording website. Whenever you complete a puzzle, you can click a button to record your time before moving on the next puzzle.

Will we be able to see the leaderboard during the event?

Yes, from the time recording website, you'll be able to access the full leaderboard and results to keep an eye on how everyone is doing. The leaderboard will also be publicly available to anyone who wants to follow from home.

Does a puzzle have to be back in the box before we start the next one?

Yes, the previous puzzle should be placed back in the box before the next puzzle is unwrapped.

Is there a penalty for missing pieces?

No, there is no penalty for missing pieces in the marathon.

Do we need to take a picture of completed puzzles?

Yes, we hope to be able to catch the finish of all puzzles, but please try and take a picture of all completed puzzles for verification if needed.

How will tables be allocated?

Table numbers will be allocated at random.

What size are the tables?

The total table size is 120cm x 90cm made of two joined tables as in the image. The tables will be paper covered to ensure an even surface.

Please note: the chairs at the venue have armrests. There will be 4 foldable chairs available as alternatives. You are also welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Can we use sorting trays/boards?

Yes, you can use any sorting trays you like as long as you have space for them on your table.

How many people can puzzle at once?

A maximum of 4 team members can be actively puzzling at any time.

Can we rotate team members during the event?

Yes, teams are free to rotate as often as they like. You can change puzzlers at any time, not just between puzzles.

How is the winner decided?

The winning team will be the team that completes most puzzles in 10 hours. If 2 teams have completed the same number of puzzles, the winner will be the team who have completed the most pieces of the next puzzle. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams.
