- Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Puzzle boxes may not be opened, unsealed, or otherwise manipulated until the start of the round is announced.
- Additional light sources are not permitted, nor are templates or references showing the puzzle's finished image beyond the box lid.
- Bringing or using printed, digital, or any other templates or aids to see the cut pattern or shape of the puzzle pieces is not permitted. This also applies if a full-size poster of the puzzle image is included in the box — it may only be used as a reference image, like the box lid, not as an underlay when assembling the puzzle.
- Puzzles must be completed in the order set by the organiser — puzzles cannot be skipped.
- Assistance from anyone outside the active team members may result in disqualification.
- A maximum of 4 team members may be actively puzzling at the table at any one time. Team members may be rotated freely throughout the event.
- Finish times must be recorded via the QR code at the team's table as soon as each puzzle is completed.
- Once a puzzle is finished, it must be placed back in its box before the next puzzle is opened.
- Teams should take a photo of each completed puzzle in case verification is needed.
- There is no penalty for missing pieces.
- When the marathon ends, any pieces joined in groups of 3 or more will be counted as complete.
- Table numbers are allocated at random.
- Sorting trays and boards may be used as long as they fit on the team's table; teams must bring their own.
- Headphones are allowed as long as they don't disturb other participants. Box-lid holders are also permitted.
- The winning team is the one that completes the most puzzles within the 10-hour time limit. If two teams complete the same number of puzzles, the tiebreaker is the number of pieces placed in the next puzzle. Prizes are awarded to the top three teams.
- Decisions made by the officials during the competition are final.
- All puzzles used in the competition become the property of the teams once the event has ended.
- The organiser is not liable for loss or theft of personal belongings.
- By attending the event, you consent to photos and video being taken for promotional use on our website and social media. Contact us if you'd like to opt out.
- If the competition is cancelled or postponed for reasons beyond our control, we are not liable for any costs incurred by participants beyond the registration fee paid.
